At WTHS, Mr. Zachowski directs the Chorale, Treble Chorus, Mixed Chorus, and two a cappella ensembles. He is the Vocal Director for the All-School Musical and teaches Music Technology. Since his appointment in 2013, the choir program has grown from 75 students to over 175. Mr. Zachowski’s choirs have earned superior ratings at the NJACDA HS Choral Festival and enjoy a wide variety of school and community performances throughout the year. His students have also performed at Carnegie Hall twice under the direction of composer Eric Whitacre. Through WTHS’s annual Pop Experience concert, his choirs have raised thousands of dollars in donations to local and national charities including Stomp Out Bullying, the National MS Society, NJ Make-a-Wish, National Alliance on Mental Health, and more. 

Outside of school, Mr. Zachowski enjoys an active life in the arts. He has performed in and led productions with The Road Company, Spotliters, and the Trinity Players. From 2002-2010, Mr. Zachowski was a member of the Eastern Wind Symphony’s trumpet section. Since 2009, he has held several positions with Deptford Theatrical Productions (formerly West Deptford Little Theatre) including Music Director, Artistic Director, and Summer Program Director. Mr. Zachowski is also a founding member of regional cover band 39 Mariner, performing thousands of shows at clubs, casinos, weddings, and private events up and down the East Coast for over 20 years.

Mr. Zachowski lives in Sewell with his wife Melissa and son John. He is honored to be this year’s All South Jersey Sr. High Director, and would like to thank his family, friends, and colleagues for their love and support. He is excited to make beautiful music with such a fantastic group of singers and create memories that will last a lifetime!
